Maldives invites proposals for resort development on 17 islands, lagoons
Ministry of Tourism on Thursday announced an invitation for proposals to develop tourist facilities on several uninhabited islands and lagoon plots.
The ministry has released a list of available locations along with their respective sizes in hectares and acquisition costs. Interested parties can find more details and application forms on the ministry’s website.
Here are the islands listed along with their acquisition cost and size:
- Hdh. Vaiakaramuraidhoo – 15 hectares; $1.9 million
- Sh. Kudalhaimendhoo – 13.11 hectares; 2 million dollars
- R. Dhikkurehdhoo – 4.83 hectares; $2.6 million
- Lh. Dhiffushi (with L. Maidhoo) – 15.17+20.99 hectares; $18.6 million
- Lh. Vihafarufinolhu – 0.28 ha; $640,000
- Lagoon in Male atoll – 712 hectares; $23.5 million
- Lagoon in Male atoll – 46 hectares; $10.9 million
- AA. Alikoirah – 1.47 hectares; $1.3 million
- Th. Gaalee (with another island in the atoll) – 6.96 vs. 0.20 hectares; $2 million
- Th. Ruthibirah – 8.41 hectares; $2.4 million
- Th. Kanimeedhoo – 10 hectares; $2.8 million
- L. Kashidhoo – 3.11 hectares; $466,500
- L. Bodumungnafushi – 3.14 hectares; $471,000
- L. Hanhushi – 2.81 hectares; $421,500
