[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Maldives wins big at the 2018 World Spa Awards, taking home nine awards for its exceptional spa treatment programmes and dream destinations.

World Spa Awards was established in response to the increasing demand from the spa industry for a platform that was impartial and transparent; a program with a mission to serve as the ultimate benchmark of superiority, and to help to nurture a new era of progression in spa tourism.

Forerunners, influencers and leading figureheads of the universal spa and wellness industry attended the 2018 World Spa Awards at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, an ultra-luxury secluded island escape in the southern Dhaalu Atoll, well-known for the largest overwater spa in the Maldives at 20,000 square foot, making it the perfect setting to showcase the brilliance of the global spa industry.

Maldives took home awards from three main categories; World’s Best, Indian Ocean’s Best, and Maldives’ Best. In the World’s Best category, Maldives was the proud winner of Best Spa Destination, World’s Best Resort Spa (Iridium Spa at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort), Best Eco Spa (Vindhu Spa at aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise) and Best Spa Signature Treatment (Caviar Journey St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort).

In the Indian Ocean’s Best category, Maldives won Best Spa Destination with Iridium Spa at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort winning the Best Resort Spa, and Anantara Veli Retreat winning the Best Wellness Retreat. The two resorts won the same awards in the Maldives’ Best category as well.

World Spa Awards is the sister event to World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. For more information about the 2018 World Spa Awards, visit[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
