Maldives Travel Conference 2024 Women’s Edition: Endorsements from tourism ministry, women’s associations

The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), in support from Hotel Jen Male’ (JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri-La), recently announced the inaugural Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition, scheduled to take place on August 19 at Hotel Jen Male’. This event is dedicated to celebrating and highlighting the vital roles of women in the tourism sector.

MATATO has received the endorsement of the Ministry of Tourism, marking a pivotal collaboration aimed at empowering women in the industry. MATATO representatives recently met with Aishath Shimani, Deputy Minister, and Dr Abdulla Niyaz, Minister of State, to discuss and explore avenues of partnership to advance women’s participation and leadership in tourism.

In addition to the Ministry’s support, the conference has garnered endorsements from prominent women’s associations, including Women in Management (WIM), Women on Boards (WOB), and the Women Entrepreneurs Association – Maldives (WEAM). These endorsements reflect the widespread recognition of the importance of this event in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in tourism.

The Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and trailblazing women from across the tourism sector. The conference will feature inspiring talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering a more inclusive and diverse industry.
