Maldivian reconnects the Maldives’ northernmost atolls with Trivandrum, India

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has reconnected the northernmost atolls with Trivandrum, India, with the resumption of flights from Hanimaadhoo International Airport. This exciting development strengthens ties between the Maldives and India, offering seamless travel experiences for leisure and business travelers alike.

“This route greatly benefits our customers and the economy of the northern Maldives,” said Mr. Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Maldivian. “It reflects our commitment to improve air connectivity in the region, boosting the travel trade and supporting socioeconomic growth.”

The twice-weekly flights operate on Fridays and Mondays, catering to peak travel periods. Passengers departing Hanimaadhoo can expect to arrive in Trivandrum within a smooth 1 hour and 45 minutes on a comfortable Dash 8 aircraft. The return flights from Trivandrum to Hanimaadhoo offer a similar travel time.

Travellers can book their flights between Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum well in advance through Maldivian’s website (www.maldivian.aero), mobile application, or ticketing offices.

This reconnection between Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum goes beyond offering convenient travel. It fosters cultural and economic exchange between the Maldives and South India, allowing for exploration of Trivandrum’s rich history, diverse culture, and thriving business scene.
