Marc Kouwenberg becomes Maldives’ first PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer
Aquaventure TecRec Center has announced that Marc Kouwenberg has become the first PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer in the Maldives, following his successful completion of the Instructor Trainer Course held in Dubai in 2025.
This achievement marks a major advancement for technical diving in the Maldives. As the country’s first PADI Technical Dive Center, Aquaventure TecRec Center now holds the distinction of being able to offer PADI Technical Diving Courses at the Instructor level — a milestone for the local diving community.
“With Marc achieving this level of PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer, we’re thrilled to expand our offerings and contribute to the growth of technical diving education in the Maldives,” said a spokesperson for Aquaventure TecRec Center. “Having a PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer in-house allows us to deliver the highest standard of technical diving instruction, right here in Addu.”
The certification reinforces Aquaventure’s commitment to developing professional-level diver education and supporting the Maldives’ position as a world-class destination for technical diving.
Located in the southernmost atoll of the Maldives, Aquaventure TecRec Center is the first PADI Technical Dive Center in Addu Atoll. The centre offers a complete range of recreational and technical diving courses, guided dives, and exploration experiences in some of the nation’s most pristine underwater environments.
