MATATO and Villa College partner to elevate tourism education and professional development
The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Villa College, formalising their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This landmark agreement aims to enhance academic and professional opportunities for MATATO members and foster the development of future talent in the tourism industry.
Through this partnership, MATATO members will gain access to a variety of specialised courses and educational programs offered by Villa College. These programs are tailored to meet the evolving demands of the tourism sector, ensuring that industry professionals remain well-equipped to navigate the ever-changing landscape. Members will also benefit from exclusive discounts on these educational opportunities, making professional development more accessible.
One of the core objectives of the MOU is the development of human capital, a long-standing priority for MATATO. The association is committed to supporting the tourism industry’s growth and sustainability by facilitating training programs and other educational initiatives that equip professionals with the skills necessary for success.
In addition to professional development, the MOU also lays the groundwork for the establishment of a MATATO Student Chapter at Villa International School. This initiative aims to engage and nurture future tourism professionals, providing students with valuable insights and opportunities to become actively involved in the sector.
This collaboration underscores MATATO’s dedication to enhancing the quality of the Maldives’ tourism workforce, further solidifying the nation’s position as a world-renowned travel destination.
