MATATO honoured with PATA certificate for promoting responsible travel

The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has been awarded a Certificate of Special Recognition by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). This accolade highlights MATATO’s ongoing efforts to champion responsible travel and tourism across the Asia Pacific region.

The recognition was formally presented to the PATA Maldives Chapter, MATATO, during the PATA Travel Mart 2024, which took place in Bangkok from August 27-29, 2024. MATATO’s President Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz accepted the award on behalf of the association.

MATATO’s recognition by PATA underscores the association’s role in driving initiatives that encourage sustainable and responsible travel practices in the region. The association continues to work closely with stakeholders, both locally and internationally, to enhance the Maldives’ tourism industry while ensuring it remains sustainable for future generations.
