MATATO launches student chapter to nurture future tourism leaders
The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has introduced a groundbreaking initiative with the launch of the MATATO Student Chapter. This dedicated platform aims to empower young minds and equip them with the necessary skills to excel in the travel and tourism industry.
Open to students aged 16 and above enrolled in any registered educational institute in the Maldives, the MATATO Student Chapter offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, network with industry professionals, and contribute to the growth of the tourism sector.
The chapter’s primary objective is to foster leadership skills, enhance industry knowledge, and create a platform for students to share ideas and innovations. MATATO envisions this initiative as a stepping stone for aspiring tourism professionals to make a significant impact on the industry.
Initially focusing on Malé, MATATO has ambitious plans to expand the Student Chapter to other regions of the Maldives, creating a nationwide network of young tourism enthusiasts. Furthermore, the association aims to connect the Maldivian Student Chapter with the global network of PATA Student Chapters, providing students with an international platform to collaborate and learn from their peers.
By joining the MATATO Student Chapter, students will have the chance to contribute to sustainable tourism development, gain valuable insights into industry trends, and build a strong foundation for their future careers.
