MMPRC’s Ukulhas Board Meeting highlights vision for inclusive tourism development
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) convened its first board meeting of 2025 in Aa. Ukulhas, marking a significant step in its commitment to supporting local tourism.
The meeting was led by MMPRC’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree, and Chairman, Abdullah Ghiyas Riyaz, along with the corporation’s board of directors. Their arrival in Ukulhas was met with a warm welcome from the Ukulhas Council, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm for hosting such an event.
During the visit, MMPRC representatives planned to engage with the island’s council and key stakeholders in local tourism. According to MMPRC, these discussions aimed to explore challenges and opportunities within Ukulhas’s thriving tourism sector, which has established itself as a key hub for local tourism in the Maldives.
Managing Director Shiuree described the meeting as a demonstration of MMPRC’s dedication to local tourism, a cornerstone of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision for the Maldives. He stressed the importance of collaboration with stakeholders at all levels to drive the tourism industry forward.
