Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection appoints Hussain Shahid as General Manager
Hussain Shahid has been appointed as the new General Manager at Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection.
With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shahid has held key leadership roles, including Resort Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, and Director of Human Resources at IHG Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives, as well as with other prestigious brands such as Six Senses and Shangri-La.
His extensive background includes 3 different pre-opening resorts and a rebranding under his belt. His 25 years of hospitality career spans over not only in Maldives but also overseas with the iconic opening of the Six Senses Zighy Bay Oman.
He has served on the Advisory Committee of the Maldives Association of Human Resources Professionals (MAHRP) since its inception in 2018 and has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies over the past two terms serving as the Chair of the Committee.
This diverse experience in operations and human resources, combined with an MBA in International Hospitality Management, positions him perfectly to elevate Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection to new heights and ensure a thriving team environment.
The appointment comes after IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a partnership with Roxy-Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd, a real estate and hospitality leader in Asia Pacific, to introduce its Vignette Collection brand to the Maldives.
The conversion deal will see Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection, a 50-key private villa resort on the idyllic island of Kudafunafaru, join IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, one of the world’s largest, in December 2024 after refurbishment under the Vignette Collection brand – a family of one-of-a-kind properties unique in their identities, yet united by the vision to offer a more authentic way to travel and backed by the reassurance of IHG’s trusted reputation and leading loyalty offer.
