Nomination deadline for Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025 extended to February 10

Hotelier Maldives has extended the deadline for nominations to the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), to February 10, 2025. The original deadline of January 31, 2025, has been moved to give more time for resorts and hotels to submit nominations for their exceptional team members.

Scheduled to take place in May 2025, the Hotelier Maldives Awards aim to celebrate the outstanding professionals contributing to the Maldives’ thriving tourism and hospitality industry. The awards were launched in 2024, with the inaugural event receiving over 300 nominations and 100,000 public votes.

The 2025 edition, building on the success of the first awards, will feature four new categories:

• Watersports Personality of the Year
• Diving Personality of the Year
• Airport Representative of the Year
• Resort Manager of the Year

These additions ensure broader recognition across the diverse roles driving the Maldives’ tourism success.

Resorts across the Maldives are encouraged to nominate their team members via a dedicated online form. Each resort may nominate one person per category, with nominations needing approval from HR, PR, Marketing teams, or the General Manager’s office before submission.

Key guidelines for nominations:

• Submissions must highlight achievements from the past 12 months (2024).
• Only online submissions through the official nomination form will be accepted.
• The new deadline for nominations is February 10, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

Once all nominations are submitted, a shortlist will be compiled and reviewed by an independent panel of judges. The winners will be determined through an evaluation process that combines judges’ marks (60%) and public votes (40%). Finalists will be announced online before the public voting phase begins.

The winners will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in May 2025, presented by BBM.
