Nominations for Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 now open until 9 February
Hotelier Maldives has announced a seven-day extension to the nominations deadline for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026, following multiple requests from resorts across the country. Nominations, which were due to close at 11:59pm on 2 February 2026, will now remain open until 11:59pm on 9 February 2026.
The extension is intended to provide additional time for resorts to complete and submit nominations for eligible individuals and teams, ensuring broader participation across the industry. Presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), the awards programme recognises outstanding contributions by hospitality professionals working across the Maldivian resort sector.
Established in 2024, the Hotelier Maldives Awards are the country’s first awards programme dedicated exclusively to hospitality professionals, recognising excellence among both front-line and back-of-house teams. The 2026 edition marks a significant expansion, with the introduction of eight new team-based categories reflecting departmental performance and cross-functional collaboration.
The most recent ceremony, the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, held at Barceló Nasandhura Malé, recorded strong industry engagement. Winners were selected through a combined evaluation process, with 60 per cent weighting from expert judging and 40 per cent from public voting.
For the 2026 awards, resorts may submit nominations across individual and team categories, including Sales & Marketing, Rooms Division, HR & Training, Engineering, Finance, F&B & Culinary, Wellness, and Support Teams of the Year. Multiple nominations are permitted, provided all published criteria are met.
All nominations must be submitted through the official Hotelier Maldives Awards nominations portal and supported by a formal nomination letter endorsed by the resort’s General Manager or Human Resources department, confirming eligibility and institutional support.
