Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa marked Eid al-Fitr with a heartfelt and vibrant celebration for its associates on March 20, 2026, bringing the entire team together on the evening of Eid at the Futsal Ground for a traditional Jaafaiy feast. Rooted in culture and connection, the gathering beautifully honoured Maldivian heritage while reflecting the resort’s deep commitment to community, appreciation, and associate wellbeing.

At the heart of the celebration was the Jaafaiy dinner, a cherished Maldivian tradition that embodies unity and generosity. The feast featured a beautifully presented Malaafaiy, an ornate, lacquered wooden dish wrapped in colourful fabric, symbolising abundance and togetherness. Thoughtfully prepared traditional dishes and refreshing drinks were shared among associates, creating a warm and intimate communal dining experience that truly captured the spirit of Eid.

Adding to the evening’s cultural richness, associates showcased a traditional Maldivian dance performance, bringing energy and rhythm to the celebration. The performance created a lively and joyful atmosphere, highlighting the team’s spirit and connection to local heritage.

In a gesture that made the evening even more special, the resort’s leadership team personally served the dishes to associates. Led by the General Manager Greg Allan, Resort Manager Ajay Sharma, and Director of Human Resources Hassan Shareef, this act of service reflected humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of appreciation for every team member who contributes to the resort’s success.

The celebration also marked the official inauguration of the Sheraton Recreation Committee, a thoughtful initiative aligned with Marriott International’s TakeCare program. Comprising 15 representatives from across departments, including two chairpersons, the committee is dedicated to curating engaging recreational activities and experiences that support associates’ wellbeing and encourage a healthy work-life balance while living on the island.
