With over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Shirhaan brings extensive expertise in fiber optic infrastructure, IPTV, CCTV, PABX systems, and key hospitality technology platforms such as Opera PMS, Micros POS, Symphony, and Material Control. His professional journey began with a deep-seated interest in tackling complex technical challenges and a drive to develop more efficient and effective solutions.
Shirhaan’s career spans a variety of environments, including government institutions and luxury resorts. His early role as an Assistant Computer Technician at the Secretariat of Addu City Council provided a solid foundation in building reliable systems, managing essential network operations, and adhering to structured processes vital for public service. His transition into the hospitality industry introduced a fast-paced environment where guest satisfaction and technological innovation go hand in hand.
This unique blend of public sector discipline and hospitality sector creativity enables Shirhaan to strike a balance — merging the stability of government IT frameworks with the flexibility and agility required in the resort industry. His tenure at South Palm Resort Maldives as both IT Manager and Assistant IT Manager further strengthened his expertise, preparing him well for his current leadership role at Canareef.
At Canareef Resort Maldives, Shirhaan envisions a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure that supports both staff operations and guest services seamlessly. He is committed to enhancing digital systems, improving connectivity, and integrating smart automation technologies to ensure that technology consistently enriches the guest experience while streamlining staff efficiency.
Among his notable accomplishments is the successful implementation of a resort-wide Fiber To The Home (FTTH) network, significantly increasing internet speed and reliability. He also developed a custom IPTV client application for in-room televisions, greatly enhancing the entertainment experience for guests.
Beyond his responsibilities at the resort, Shirhaan contributes to the future of the IT field by serving as a visiting lecturer at Maldives National University. In this role, he shares valuable practical insights with students preparing for careers in technology, a contribution he views as both impactful and rewarding.
Shirhaan holds several professional certifications, including CompTIA A+, Network+, and Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), along with a degree in Information Technology from Maldives National University.
