SO/ Maldives appoints Adi as Director of Revenue, Mobeen as Director of Lifestyle

SO/ Maldives has announced the appointment of Adi Karang as Director of Revenue & Distribution and Mobeen Akhalwaya as Director of Lifestyle, further strengthening the resort’s leadership team with a wealth of international experience and strategic expertise.

Adi Karang brings nearly twenty years of experience within Accor’s prestigious portfolio. His career began in 2007 at Sofitel Seminyak Bali, where he developed a solid foundation in reservations and front office operations. His transition into revenue management by 2011 marked a significant evolution in his professional journey, where he began shaping pricing and inventory strategies. In 2013, he took on cluster responsibilities for Novotel and Mercure Nusa Dua, and later, from 2016 to 2019, he served as Multihotel Revenue Manager overseeing five properties across Bali, Balikpapan, Manado, and Bandung. Most recently, he led revenue operations at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, where his strategic approach delivered sustained growth and optimised distribution. At SO/ Maldives, he is expected to bring fresh innovation and data-driven insight to the commercial landscape.

Mobeen Akhalwaya joins SO/ Maldives as Director of Lifestyle, bringing with him diverse global experience shaped across nine countries. He began his career at Virgin Active South Africa, cultivating a balance between wellness, sales, and guest engagement. His path led to senior roles at Club Med, Sofitel, Mövenpick, and The American Club Hong Kong, where he became known for his ability to create emotionally resonant lifestyle experiences. With a flair for blending wellness, entertainment, and cultural storytelling, Mobeen is poised to elevate the guest journey at SO/ Maldives, crafting experiences that fuse modern luxury with soulfulness and discovery.

General Manager Olivier Moies-Delval expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments, stating that Adi and Mobeen’s combined expertise in revenue strategy and lifestyle innovation will significantly enhance the guest experience while driving commercial performance. Their arrival marks a new phase for SO/ Maldives as it continues to redefine luxury in the region with a bold and visionary approach.
