Thai AirAsia commences Bangkok-Malé operations
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Low-cost carrier, Thai AirAsia commences operations between Thailand and the Maldives. The new route from Bangkok to Malé was launched on June 14 with a special promotional fare starting from US$99.
According to AirAsia, direct flights will be held daily from Bangkok to Malé. The first flight of Thai AirAsia to Maldives will open doors for not only travellers looking for a luxury stay but will cater to all types of travellers since Maldives offers a wide variety of accommodations starting from guest houses to luxurious resorts.
This is a huge milestone achieved to the tourism industry of Maldives and AirAsia which will change the perspective of travellers which portrays Maldives as only a luxury destination. Thailand is an emerging market for Maldives with an increasing number of arrivals from the market in previous years.

Looking to the latest arrival figures, by June this year Maldives have welcomed 9,276 which is an increase of 18.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Thai AirAsia is a joint venture between Malaysian LCC, AirAsia and majority Thailand financial interests. Commencing operations in February 2004, it is based at Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport with a secondary hub at Phuket International Airport. Thai AirAsia operates a network of domestic and regional services throughout Thailand and Asia. The carrier utilises a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
