The Nautilus Foundation awards scholarships to 3 Maldivian students

The Nautilus Foundation has awarded three fully funded scholarships to promising Maldivian students, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to education and national development.

Announced during a ceremony held on Monday, the scholarships cover full tuition and living expenses, enabling recipients to pursue higher education abroad in fields that are vital to the Maldives’ growth.

Scholarship Recipients:

  • Dr Fathimath Masroora Ali Didi: Granted a scholarship for postgraduate studies in internal medicine, furthering her medical career with the aim of strengthening the nation’s healthcare capacity.
  • Mohamed Humaid Ahmed: Awarded a scholarship to pursue professional training in aircraft maintenance, supporting his goal of contributing to the aviation sector—a field with growing relevance to the Maldives’ connectivity and infrastructure.
  • Shahudha Mohamed: Selected for a scholarship to pursue a degree in mass communication, equipping her to contribute meaningfully to the evolving Maldivian media and communications landscape.

Alongside financial support, the foundation will provide mentorship and facilitate career placement opportunities upon graduation. This initiative forms part of The Nautilus Foundation’s broader strategy to empower Maldivian youth and invest in the nation’s long-term socio-economic development.

Launched in remembrance of visionary Maldivian leader Dr Ibrahim Umar Maniku, The Nautilus Foundation is an independent public charity committed to empowering individuals through education, development, and opportunity. Established in collaboration with organisations founded by Dr Maniku, the foundation supports the growth of creative and capable minds across the Maldives through scholarships, grants, and mentoring programmes.

With a focus on key sectors such as healthcare, education, hospitality, engineering, journalism, and aviation, the foundation works to expand economic opportunity, promote community engagement, and foster lasting social impact. Honouring Dr Maniku’s enduring legacy of progress and possibility, The Nautilus Foundation seeks to inspire a new generation of Maldivians to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development.
