The Ritz-Carlton Maldives appoints Frédéric Marti as Resort Manager, João Miguel Pais as Director of F&B
The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has announced the appointment of Frédéric Marti as Resort Manager and João Miguel Pais as Director of Food and Beverage, further strengthening the resort’s leadership team with two globally accomplished hospitality professionals.
Frédéric Marti brings more than 20 years of global luxury hospitality experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Known for his people focused leadership style and strong operational expertise, Fred has led ultra luxury resorts and award-winning dining destinations, driving performance while elevating guest satisfaction and team engagement.
Most recently based in the Maldives, Fred oversaw the daily operations of an ultra-luxury resort, guiding strategic initiatives across rooms, food and beverage, and guest experience. Throughout his career, he has successfully launched new dining concepts, implemented sustainability practices, optimised departmental performance, and strengthened financial results.
In his new role as Resort Manager, Fred will oversee all aspects of the resort’s operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and continued alignment with The Ritz-Carlton’s world- renowned standards of luxury. He will lead a diverse team of Ladies and Gentlemen, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and intuitive, personalised service.

Joining alongside him, João Miguel Pais brings extensive international experience in luxury food and beverage leadership across Spain, Portugal, and Angola. With a career defined by large scale operations and complex multi outlet environments, João has successfully directed expansive culinary portfolios including fine dining restaurants, destination bars, beach clubs, banquet operations, and private residences.
Most recently based in Spain, João led food and beverage operations for a Forbes Five Star luxury hotel, overseeing hundreds of team members while managing multiple restaurant concepts, large event spaces, and 24 hours in room dining. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his strong focus on training, cost control, revenue optimisation, and the development of elevated luxury service standards. With a background rooted in Michelin starred environments and advanced beverage expertise, he brings a refined perspective to service excellence and experiential hospitality.
At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, João will lead all food and beverage operations, further refine the resort’s culinary identity while creating memorable dining experiences that reflect both global sophistication and the spirit of island life.
