The St. Regis Maldives appoints Shumaes Rasheed as Director of Marketing Communications
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has appointed Shumaes Rasheed as its new Director of Marketing Communications. With over a decade of experience in public relations and marketing within the Maldives’ hospitality industry, Shumaes brings a wealth of expertise to his new role at the award-winning resort.
Shumaes began his journey in hospitality marketing in 2011 as Marketing Communications Manager at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. Over the next seven years, he climbed the ranks, eventually becoming Senior Marketing Communications Manager at the same property. During his tenure, he successfully enhanced the resort’s brand visibility and contributed to its marketing strategies.
In 2018, Shumaes transitioned to Visit Maldives as Marketing Director, where he played a key role in promoting the Maldives as a premier travel destination globally. This was followed by a return to resort-based roles, including stints as Marketing Communications Manager at Jumeirah Maldives and Director of Marketing Communications at Brennia Kottefaru.
Notably, Shumaes also served as Cluster Marketing Communications Manager at Crossroads Maldives, where he managed communications for one of the country’s most expansive integrated lifestyle destinations.
Most recently, Shumaes held the positions of Senior Manager and Associate Director of PR & Marketing at Villa Resorts, where he spearheaded campaigns that elevated the brand’s reputation across international markets.
In his new role at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, Shumaes is expected to lead the resort’s marketing and communications efforts, focusing on further solidifying its reputation as one of the world’s most luxurious and sought-after destinations.
