2023 Starts Strong with 20% Increase in Tourists Arrivals
Tourist arrivals in the first two weeks of 2023 see a 20.8% growth compared to 2022. There were 75,485 arrivals by January 14, 2023 compared to 62,504 in 2022.
The top three markets are Russia, Italy and India. So far, in 2023, Russians account for 16.9% of arrivals. Italy enjoys 11.4% market share and India accounts for 9.3% of arrivals. Comparatively, in the first two weeks of 2022 the top markets were Russia (21.9%), the United Kingdom (8.6%), Italy (8.4%) and India (8.1%).
In both 2022 and 2023, January 2nd had the highest number of arrivals in a single day, with 6,123 and 6,487 arrivals, respectively.
