Voting open for World Spa Awards 2018, Maldives seeks to defend Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination title

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The World Spa Awards 2018 has been opened for voting. Launched in 2015, World Spa Awards is a dynamic awards programme designed to drive up standards within spa and wellness tourism, by rewarding the organisations that are the leaders in the field.

World Spa Awards Gala Ceremony 2018 will be staged at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort on October 26, welcoming hundreds of hospitality leaders from across the region and around the world. Nominees for the World Spa Awards 2018 were announced on April 23, while the worldwide voting window will be open from May 1 until August 17.

The Maldives is once again contending to win the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination 2018, consecutively bringing home the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Maldives has also been named in other categories; with the Iridium Spa at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort nominated in the category of World’s Best Spa Design 2018.

Spa My Blend by Clarins at Velaa Private Island was also nominated in the category of World’s Best Private Island Spa 2018. Nominees in the Maldives’s Best Resort Spa 2018 category include Anantara Spa at Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Spa at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, Ayspa at Ayada Maldives, Calm Spa at JA Manafaru, and Coco Spa at Coco Bodu Hithi, etc.

Other spas contending in this category are Devarana Spa at Dusit Thani Maldives, Iridium Spa at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, Jiva Grande Spa at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives, Kokaa Spa at Kanuhura, Meera Spa at Gili Lankanfushi, Six Senses Spa at Six Senses Laamu, Spa My Blend by Clarins at Velaa Private Island, Talise Spa at Jumeirah Vittaveli, The Spa at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, The Spa by Thalgo at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi.

Nominees in the category of Maldives’s Best Wellness Retreat 2018 are Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, COMO Cocoa Island, COMO Maalifushi, LUX* South Ari Atoll, One&Only Reethi Rah, Six Senses Laamu and Six Senses Spa Kunfunadhoo at Soneva Fushi.

Contenders in the World’s Best Hotel Spa Brand 2018 include Anantara Spa, Banyan Tree Spa, Deep Nature, Iridium Spas at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Jiva Spa by Taj Hotels, Kempinski The Spa, One&Only Spa, Red Lane Spa by Sandals, Six Senses, Talise by Jumeirah, and Willow Stream – A Fairmont Spa; most of which are featured in the Maldives.
