Maldives ranks among top Eid al-Fitr holiday destinations for UAE residents

Maldives has been ranked as the fourth most popular Eid al-Fitr holiday destination for UAE residents, according to a list compiled by Expedia. The ranking places Maldives ahead of global cities such as Tokyo, London, Paris, and New York, highlighting its continued appeal among travellers seeking a tropical getaway.

The list, which features the top 10 destinations for UAE residents during the Eid holidays, was dominated by regional and international hotspots. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah took the top three spots, reinforcing the strong preference for domestic travel within the UAE. However, Maldives secured its position as the leading international island destination, reflecting its enduring status as a sought-after retreat.

With its pristine beaches, luxury resorts, and world-class hospitality, Maldives remains a favoured choice for travellers from the UAE. The short travel distance, visa-on-arrival policy for UAE passport holders, and the availability of direct flights from major UAE cities contribute to the country’s attractiveness.

As the Eid holiday season approaches, Maldives’ hospitality sector is poised to welcome an influx of visitors, with resorts and guesthouses preparing exclusive packages tailored for Middle Eastern travellers. The ranking underscores the strong tourism ties between the UAE and the Maldives, further strengthening its position as a premier luxury travel destination in the region.
