Visit Maldives launches first Superyacht Promotion Campaign
Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has launched its first Super Yacht Promotion Campaign, running from September to December 2025. The initiative is aimed at positioning the Maldives as a premier destination for luxury yacht tourism, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals travelling on private and chartered superyachts.
The campaign showcases the Maldives’ pristine waters, rich marine biodiversity, and bespoke experiences tailored for yacht owners, captains, charterers, and brokers. By aligning with Monaco’s prestige and Asia’s expanding yachting routes, the initiative seeks to reinforce the Maldives’ status as an exclusive stop along the Spice Route for luxury maritime travel.
As part of the campaign, the Maldives was represented at the Monaco Yacht Show, one of the world’s leading superyacht events. The programme includes strategic meetings with global yachting professionals, direct marketing to more than 6,000 industry contacts, targeted coverage in leading luxury and yachting media, and influencer collaborations. It will also feature a dedicated Maldives showcase on the Spice Route website, the release of a campaign brochure, and a series of digital and social media activities.
Through this initiative, the Maldives is being positioned as a leading destination for high-net-worth travellers, combining global event participation with targeted engagement and performance tracking to measure impact. By strengthening its presence at international events, interacting with key industry figures, and continuously monitoring engagement, VMC aims to ensure that the Maldives’ luxury tourism offering is effectively promoted and its objectives are realised.
“We are positioning the Maldives as the Indian Ocean’s leading luxury superyacht destination,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “By building our presence at global yachting events and engaging directly with decision-makers, we intend to capture an underserved market and further establish the Maldives as the ultimate stop for high-net-worth travellers.”
The campaign coincides with continued growth in visitor arrivals to the Maldives, which reached 1,594,616 as of 22 September 2025. Expansion into the luxury superyacht segment is regarded as a strategic step towards diversifying the nation’s tourism offering and raising awareness among new, high-value audiences.
