Greater Bay Airlines introduces charter services to Maldives

Greater Bay Airlines of Hong Kong has commenced charter operations to the Maldives, marking a further expansion of the country’s air links with the East Asian region.

The airline’s first service, HB2500, touched down at Velana International Airport Sunday and was received with a traditional water salute to commemorate the milestone. A total of 174 passengers arrived on the inaugural flight.

Greater Bay Airlines plans to operate direct charter flights between Hong Kong and Malé using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, offering additional travel capacity from the East Asian region.

With this launch, the airline becomes the second carrier to introduce direct air services between Hong Kong and the Maldives, highlighting sustained demand from the market.
