One&Only Reethi Rah celebrates graduation of Dharivaru Class 2025/2026
One&Only Reethi Rah, the ultra-luxury resort renowned for its commitment to excellence, has celebrated a significant milestone in local talent development with the graduation of the Dharivaru Class of 2025/2026, the 14th batch of the programme. The ceremony, held at the North Malé resort and attended by Executive Committee Members, department heads, and proud families, honoured nine young Maldivians aged between 18 and 22 years who successfully completed a transformative 12-month journey from raw potential to professional excellence.
Since its inception in 2010, the Dharivaru programme has served as a cornerstone of the resort’s mission to leave a legacy and positive impact in the Maldives’ tourism industry. By offering Maldivian youth an immersive entry into the world of high-end hospitality, the resort reinforces its position as a sanctuary not only for global travellers but for the professional aspirations of the local community.
During the ceremony, Jan B. Tibaldi, General Manager of One&Only Reethi Rah, addressed the graduates with an inspiring message, framing their achievement not as a finish line, but as a gateway to the world. With the stirring reminder that “the world is your oyster,” he urged the graduates to use this foundation as a launchpad for global exploration.
This year’s graduating class comprised of nine Dharivarus: Ibrahim Looth Jaufar, Ibrahim Naaim Ahmed, Adam Sadhaan, Razaan Shafeeg, Yaish Mohamed Shiham, Mohammed Shizaan Rasheed, Ibrahim Hassan, Mujuthaba Mohamed, and Mayiz Muneez Ibrahim. Each graduate demonstrated remarkable growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to the values that define the One&Only brand. A special highlight of the event was the announcement of Mayiz Muneez Ibrahim as the Dharivaru of the Year, recognised for his exceptional performance and dedication throughout the term.
The Dharivaru journey begins with rotational training across all operational departments, allowing participants to gain a holistic understanding of resort operations. Through regular performance reviews and structured feedback, Dharivarus develop professional discipline while continuously refining their skills. In the latter part of the year, each participant specialises in a division aligned with their strengths and interests, including Food & Beverage, Guest Experiences, or Rooms Division.
More than a training initiative, the Dharivaru programme represents an investment in the future of the Maldivian community. By empowering young locals with the skills, confidence, and professional standards required in luxury hospitality, One&Only Reethi Rah continues to build a pipeline of capable hospitality professionals who will carry forward a culture of excellence, pride, and personalised service.
For the graduates, the Dharivaru Programme serves as a catalyst for meaningful hospitality careers. For One&Only Reethi Rah, it remains a living expression of its purpose to create opportunities, strengthen communities, and leave a positive legacy in the Maldives by preparing young hoteliers to embody the spirit of being true Legacy Makers.
