Visit Maldives partners with Hey Travellers to promote destination through gaming

Visit Maldives Corporation and Hey Travellers Private Limited have partnered to promote the Maldives as a leading virtual destination through the Loopcraft gaming platform. Hey Travellers is a Maldivian digital and gaming company and is the developer of the Hey Travellers gaming application, created with the support of Loopcraft, a platform that combines virtual destination experiences with interactive tourism-themed gameplay.

The partnership agreements were signed by CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, Ibrahim Shiuree and Nasru Dean, Managing Director of Hey Travellers Pvt Ltd.

The highly interactive travel simulation game allows users to explore real Maldivian resorts, complete quests, earn points and stand a chance to win resort stays. Featuring immersive gameplay, users can create customised avatars, explore authentic resort environments and design their own dream island resort.

The integration of Visit Maldives branding within the gaming platform will support destination promotion across emerging digital channels, leveraging interactive experiences and innovative technologies to enhance the Maldives’ visibility among global audiences. The collaboration will also create new opportunities to engage users through virtual exploration and tourism-focused gameplay.

Through this partnership Hey Travellers Pvt Ltd will provide regular analytics and engagement reports, including data on user interactions, audience reach, application downloads, and campaign performance. The insights generated through these reports will contribute to measuring the effectiveness of the initiative and support data-driven approaches to future digital tourism promotion efforts.

In regards to this partnership, CEO and MD of Visit Maldives, Ibrahim Shiuree says that, ““An innovative initiative such as this, opens up an entirely new and dynamic audience segment for the Maldives, one that caters to the younger generation and solo travellers that seek meaningful travel experiences through digital platforms. With global reach via digital channels, we are able to engage potential travellers in a more immersive and meaningful way, allowing them to experience the destination in a new approach that resonates with how the younger generation consumes content today. This approach not only strengthens destination visibility among digital-first audiences but also creates new pathways for inspiration and travel consideration that extend beyond traditional marketing channels.”

The agreement also outlines opportunities for future collaboration on events and marketing activities, as well as the designation of Visit Maldives as the exclusive destination partner within the loopcraft application, providing a dedicated platform to showcase the Maldives through interactive digital experiences and virtual tourism initiatives.
