The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort appoints Sinta Herna Septiana as Spa Manager
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort has appointed Sinta Herna Septiana as Spa Manager at Heavenly Spa by Westin, bringing her back to the Maldives more than a decade after she began her hotel spa career in the country.
Originally from Indonesia, Sinta started her professional wellness journey in the Maldives in 2015 as a Spa Therapist with Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. During her two years in the role, her responsibilities covered treatment delivery, guest enquiries, appointments, spa service and retail promotion, and other areas of spa operations. Her treatment experience included deep tissue, Balinese and Thai massage, reflexology, warm stone massage and skincare treatments.
She moved to Dubai in 2017 to join Bulgari Hotels & Resorts as a Spa Therapist and was part of the pre-opening team for Bulgari Hotel & Residences Dubai. She remained with the company until February 2019 before continuing her career across properties within Marriott International’s portfolio.
Sinta subsequently joined W Hotels in Dubai as a Spa Therapist in 2019. At W Dubai – The Palm, she progressed to Lead Therapist and Talent Coach in April 2021 before becoming Assistant Spa Manager in November 2023. Her time at the property gave her experience in both treatment operations and team development.
In June 2024, she joined The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm as Assistant Spa Manager. She later returned to Indonesia to take on a Spa Manager role at Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection, adding property-level spa management to her experience.
At The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, Sinta will oversee Heavenly Spa by Westin, the resort’s wellness facility offering massages, body treatments, facials and beauty treatments. The spa includes a treatment suite for two with a Jacuzzi and ocean views, while its therapies form part of Westin’s broader wellness approach centred on the brand’s well-being programmes.
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is located on Miriandhoo Island in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, approximately a 30-minute seaplane journey from Malé. The resort comprises 41 beach villas and 29 overwater villas, including two-bedroom accommodation options and a residence.
The resort’s facilities extend across wellness, dining, recreation and family experiences. Alongside Heavenly Spa by Westin, it features the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, an outdoor pool, Westin Family Kids Club and activities including snorkelling, scuba diving and water sports. Hanifaru Bay, known for seasonal manta ray gatherings, is around 18 kilometres from the resort.
Its food and beverage offering includes The Pearl, which serves Japanese cuisine and seafood; Island Kitchen, the resort’s international all-day dining restaurant; Hawker, specialising in Asian-inspired street food; as well as Sunset Bar and Beach Bar. The resort also provides destination dining experiences.
Sinta’s appointment brings together experience from resort spa operations in the Maldives with roles across Marriott brands in Dubai and Indonesia. According to the resort’s announcement, she has an interest in travel, wellness, discovering destinations and exploring different cuisines.
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort welcomed Sinta to the team and wished her success as she begins her role overseeing Heavenly Spa by Westin.
