The Cocoon Collection launches second round of Starter Programme for 2026
The Cocoon Collection is preparing to launch its second round of Starter Programme for the year, with a nationwide roadshow travelling from the south to the north of the Maldives from 15 to 24 October 2026.
Following the successful Starter Programme held in April 2026, this year’s initiative aims to reach even more young Maldivians and introduce them to career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
Under the theme “Your Journey Starts Here,” the roadshow will visit communities in Addu City, Fuvahmulah, Kulhudhuffushi, Kurendhoo and Ungoofaaru, before concluding in Malé. The programme aims to recruit 35 young Maldivians who are ready to take their first step towards a career in hospitality.
Since its launch in 2022, the Starter Programme has provided more than 90 young people with opportunities to gain practical experience and valuable insights into resort operations.
At each island, The Cocoon Collection’s Talent & Culture team will share insights into what resort life is really like, introduce participants to the different departments and career pathways available, and explain the support provided throughout their journey.
“For us at The Cocoon Collection, the Starter Programme is much more than recruitment,” said Hassan Suaidh, Cluster Director of Talent and Culture. “It is an opportunity for young Maldivians to come, meet us, understand our industry and resort life, and then decide whether hospitality is a future they would like to pursue.”
The Starter Programme is the entry point of The Cocoon Collection’s Leadership Development Journey, which continues through BLOOM, GROW, EVOLVE and INSPIRE. Selected Starter participants will learn alongside experienced teams at Cocoon Maldives, You & Me Maldives and Joy Island. The roadshow will conclude with a closing ceremony at Summer Beach Hotel, featuring “A Hotelier’s Journey to Success” with COO Jihad (Jay).
