W Maldives appoints Chinthaka Dissanayaka as Director of Finance
W Maldives has appointed Chinthaka Dissanayaka as Director of Finance, bringing more than two decades of experience in finance and hospitality operations across the Maldives, Japan, Qatar and Sri Lanka.
Dissanayaka joins W Maldives from Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Japan, where he served as Financial Controller from November 2024 to August 2026. Before assuming that position, he worked as Assistant Finance Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in Japan from August 2023 to November 2024.
His appointment marks a return to the Maldives hospitality industry, where he previously spent more than three years at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, serving as Senior Accounts Receivable from February 2020 to August 2023.
Earlier in his career, Dissanayaka worked with Marriott Hotels in Weligama, Sri Lanka, as Finance Executive, overseeing accounts receivable and credit operations between 2017 and 2020. He also held finance positions at The Ritz-Carlton in Doha, Qatar, including Accounts Receivable Clerk and General Cashier.
Before joining the international hospitality industry, he gained experience in accounting and financial administration in Sri Lanka, including more than six years with the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation.
Dissanayaka holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sunderland. His professional background includes financial planning, accounting, financial controlling, credit management and financial reporting.
In his new role at W Maldives, Dissanayaka will contribute to the resort’s financial strategy, operational performance and asset management, supporting its continued development.
Announcing his appointment, W Maldives highlighted his experience with international hospitality brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott Hotels and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, and expressed confidence in his contribution to the resort’s operations.
