Angsana Velavaru marks 20th anniversary, honours 48 long-serving associates
Angsana Velavaru marked a significant milestone in its journey of hospitality with a celebration honouring its 20th anniversary alongside the annual Long Service Awards, recognising the dedication, loyalty and contributions of associates who have grown with Banyan Group throughout their careers.
The special occasion was attended by Eddy See, President and Chief Executive Officer of Banyan Group; Ho Ren Yung, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banyan Group; and Andrew Jessop, Vice President, Regional Head of Operation SEA of Banyan Group, alongside the resort’s management team and associates. The gathering brought together colleagues to celebrate not only the resort’s two decades of creating memorable island experiences, but also the people whose commitment and passion have helped shape its journey.
This year, a total of 48 associates were recognised for their years of service to the Group, reflecting a collective spirit of dedication and a shared commitment to excellence in hospitality. The awards honoured 32 associates for five years of service, four for 10 years, six for 15 years, four for 20 years, one for 25 years and one for an outstanding 30 years of service. Each milestone represented years of hard work, professional growth and meaningful contributions to the Group’s continued development.
“Long service is a meaningful reflection of the relationships we build, the values we share and the people who bring our hospitality to life every day. Behind every milestone is an individual story of commitment, teamwork and growth. As we recognise our associates’ years of service, we also celebrate the dedication that continues to shape Banyan Group and create memorable experiences for our guests. Congratulations to all our award recipients, and thank you for being an important part of our journey,” said Eddy See, President and Chief Executive Officer of Banyan Group.
For Angsana Velavaru, the 20-year anniversary serves as an opportunity to reflect on its journey as an island destination in the Maldives, while looking ahead to the future with the same spirit of discovery, connection and heartfelt hospitality. Over the years, the resort’s associates have played an integral role in bringing its distinctive island experiences to life, welcoming guests from around the world and sharing the natural beauty and warmth of Maldivian hospitality.
The celebration unfolded in a relaxed island setting beneath the open sky and stars, where associates and distinguished guests came together for an evening of appreciation and camaraderie. A live duo band provided the evening’s entertainment, while a thoughtfully prepared dining experience under the stars created a memorable atmosphere for the gathering. More than a formal awards ceremony, the event was an opportunity for colleagues to reconnect, share stories and celebrate the people behind the resort’s success.
As Angsana Velavaru celebrates 20 years of hospitality, the occasion reinforces the importance of its people in shaping the resort’s identity and future. The Long Service Awards stand as a tribute to the associates whose dedication has strengthened the Group over the years, celebrating not only the time they have contributed but also the lasting impact they have made on the colleagues, guests and communities around them.
