Adaaran Prestige Vadoo marks Environment Day, donates garbage bin after jetty area clean-up

Over 40 staff from the resort and Malé, including the General Manager – Mr Indy Dodanwala, Chief Operating Officer for Maldives Sector – Mr Badhiya Gunatilake, Chief Operating Officer for Oversees Operations – Mr Mangela Wijesekera and various corporate managers participated in the event.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Starting at the Fishermen’s Park, the “Earth Team” cleaned and collected garbage all the way down to jetty no. 5 near Bank of Maldives building. The resort additionally donated a four compartment recyclable garbage bin to be placed in the area. The bin was donated to the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure and will be maintained by WAMCO.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”19064″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“We clean up the resort every day and thought to give back to Malé as well on this World Environment Day,” said Rimshan Razick, Assistant Front Office Manager, commenting on the initiative. “We are hoping to make an impact and leave a lasting impression on the people to take better care of Malé.”

The team concluded the event after gathering a large amount of garbage in just under two hours. Most of the garbage came from the Fishermen’s park area with the majority being plastic bottles.

“We are planning to help Malé City in the future as well,” said Indy Dodanwala, General Manager of Adaaran Prestige Vadoo. “This was our first attempt and we had a great time. We are planning to do more CSR events like this in the near future.”
