Aishath Suhaila nominated as MMPRC Managing Director
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday nominated Aishath Suhaila as the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the state-owned company responsible for promoting Maldives tourism.
Her nomination, confirmed by sources at the President’s Office, will be confirmed by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) after a review process.
Aishath Suhaila is a seasoned professional in the tourism industry, with over 14 years of experience in sales and marketing. She is currently the Sales Director of Coco Collection, a luxury resort brand that operates two properties in the Maldives. She joined Coco Collection in October 2019, and has been instrumental in increasing the brand’s visibility and revenue in the global market.
Prior to joining Coco Collection, Aishath Suhaila was the Sales Manager of Castaway Hotels, a boutique local hotel brand. She worked at Castaway Hotels from June 2012 to October 2019, and was responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and leading a team of sales executives.
Aishath Suhaila started her career in the tourism industry as an Assistant Marketing Manager at Suland Hotels, a local hotel group that owns the Coco Collection brand and runs independent resorts as well. She worked at Suland Hotels from February 2009 to May 2012, and was involved in creating and executing marketing campaigns, conducting market research, and liaising with media and travel agents.
Aishath Suhaila holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Edith Cowan University in Australia, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Tourism and Travel Services Management from Clique College in the Maldives.
