Amaya Kuda Rah hosts students on the autism spectrum

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives has partnered with Dhigurah Council in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll in organising a one-day programme for students of Dhigurah School who are on the autism spectrum, in conjunction with Autism Awareness month. The students were accompanied by their parents together with Dhigurah Council’s Vice President, Mohamed Shirkhaan and Dhigurah School’s guidance counsellor, Sabiyaa Abdul Rasheed, according to the resort.

The programme was arranged by the resort’s Human Resources team and was facilitated by Nieves Cuntapay, a certified special education teacher, assigned to manage the resort’s Nemo Club for Kids.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”18665″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The one-day programme was focused on skill enhancement within the hospitality industry. Resort associates from different departments shared basic knowledge on table setting, proper use of cutleries and bed arrangements and decorations. Furthermore, the visitors were also given the chance to see the resort and experience its facilities, according to Amaya Kuda Rah.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Michael Armstrong, General Manager, says that this will not be a one-time event. “We don’t have to wait for a special month to conduct an activity like this. Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives is committed to helping and continued to support local communities,” he adds.

To conclude the event, the management presented gifts and certificates of participation to the students. Sabiyaa Abdul Rasheed expressed her gratitude to the team and appreciation for allowing the students to have such a unique experience. “We still have a lot of challenged kids who are very creative and beautiful-minded and there will definitely be more opportunities to partner up in the future,” says Rasheed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives is situated at the heart of South Ari Atoll, accessible via 25-minute seaplane or domestic flight and 10 to 20-minute transfer via speedboat or traditional Dhoni.
