Anantara Named Luxury Hotel Company of the Year at TTG Luxury Travel Awards

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, a globally recognized luxury hospitality brand boasting three stunning resorts in the Maldives, has been honored with the prestigious title of Luxury Hotel Company of the Year (Large) at the 2024 TTG Luxury Travel Awards.

The award ceremony, held in London on March 1st, recognizes excellence across the luxury travel industry. This is particularly significant for Anantara, with its Maldivian roots running deep. Notably, Anantara Dhigu Resort, which opened its doors in 2006, marked Anantara’s very first venture outside of Thailand.

Anantara triumphed over other contenders thanks to its well-rounded approach, excelling in various areas. Entrants were judged on factors like operations, exceptional customer service, staff wellbeing, innovative product offerings, and a commitment to responsible business practices, aligning with TTG Media’s core values of “Smarter, Better, Fairer.”

The TTG Luxury Travel Awards judges praised Anantara for, “showcasing the whole package beyond just exceptional product.” They were particularly impressed by the brand’s signature “Dollar for Deeds” program, which empowers guests to contribute to worthy local causes. Additionally, the judges commended Anantara’s collaborative approach with travel partners, valuing their feedback and fostering a “two-way relationship.” Finally, the brand’s commitment to employee development and its focus on sustainability were highlighted as factors that set Anantara apart.

“We are thrilled to have received this prestigious award for our luxury brand, Anantara, particularly in the significant UK market,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, the owner of Anantara Hotels & Resorts. “We take special pride in being acknowledged for our positive impact on sustainability and community engagement.”

Minor Hotels boasts an impressive portfolio with over 540 hotels in 56 countries, spanning Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and the Americas.

Anantara’s triumph at the TTG Luxury Travel Awards further solidifies its position as a leader in the luxury travel industry. The brand’s dedication to exceptional guest experiences, its commitment to responsible tourism, and its focus on the Maldives, a paradise it has called home since its inception, all contribute to its well-deserved recognition.
