Anantara welcomes new General Manager Jean-Marc Ma-Poon

Anantara Kihavah Villas’ newly appointed General Manager Jean Marc Ma-Poon has taken up residence at the luxury resort.
Jean-Marc was born and raised in Mauritius and holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management from Glion Hotel Switzerland, Anantara noted in a press release on February 17.
He has previously worked in the USA, UK, Jordan, Bali, and the Maldives.
“I am very excited to join such a deluxe resort with arguably one of the most breath taking dining experiences in the world at the underwater restaurant – Sea. Add to this the beautiful villas and residences and the warm-hearted nature of the Maldivian people, the resort has so much to offer for a relaxing and enriching Maldives experience,” said Jean-Marc.
Jean-Marc comes to the resort with his Danish wife and two young children.
Anantara Kihavah Villas is located on the Kihavah Huravalhi Island in Baa atoll, a 35-minute seaplane ride from the Male’ international airport. Baa atoll was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in June 2011 and includes Hanifaru Bay, a world-renowned marine area for sighting of whale sharks and manta rays.
With 74 one-bedroom villas, 4 two-bedroom residences and a three-bedroom residence – each with its own large personal infinity-edge pools, dining pavilions, expansive wooden sundecks and ample lounging areas complete with swinging daybeds, hammocks and sun loungers – the resort also boasts an award-winning underwater restaurant and wine cellar.
