Angsana Velavaru appoints Artemasius Harefa as new Wellbeing Director

Angsana Velavaru has announced the appointment of Artemasius Harefa, affectionately known as Arthe, as its new Wellbeing Director. With more than two decades of experience in the hospitality and wellbeing industry, Arthe brings a wealth of expertise gained across Asia and the Middle East, having held leadership positions at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Angsana Saranam, Banyan Tree Al Areen, and most recently, Banyan Tree Ula.

Beginning his career in 2002, Arthe has cultivated a holistic approach to wellbeing that extends far beyond physical health. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he recognised early in his career that true wellbeing encompasses balance, happiness, and fulfilment, not merely physical fitness. This philosophy continues to guide his professional journey as he takes on his new role at Angsana Velavaru.

As Wellbeing Director, Arthe will lead the resort’s overall wellness strategy and oversee the Spa & Gallery operations, ensuring that every element of the guest experience reflects Angsana’s ethos of rejuvenation, connection, and mindful living. His vision includes expanding the resort’s offerings beyond traditional spa treatments to embrace a broader wellness philosophy—ranging from stress-free arrivals and healthy dining to in-room wellness amenities and immersive programmes designed to help guests integrate wellbeing into everyday life.
