Atmosphere Core appoints Shihab Mohammed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Hospitality company Atmosphere Core has announced the appointment of Shihab Mohammed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for seven resorts across two of its brand portfolios—three under Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts and four within the COLOURS of OBLU collection.

Bringing over 14 years of expertise in sales and luxury hospitality, Shihab will leverage his broad experience across multiple market segments, including MICE, strategic planning, revenue optimisation, and brand management.

Michel Politano, Senior Vice President at Atmosphere Core, emphasised the strategic importance of this appointment. “Shihab’s talent for innovative initiatives, coupled with his multi-functional experience in various commercial disciplines, underpins his significant career achievements. When seeking a new leader to drive business growth, Shihab’s strategically focused approach made him the ideal candidate to lead the future development of both the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts and COLOURS of OBLU brands.

“His in-depth sector and destination insights, along with his natural ability to inspire teams, will undoubtedly enhance Atmosphere Core’s commercial performance in the Maldives. We firmly believe that his extensive track record and well-established account relationships in the region will be pivotal in achieving record-breaking success.”

Shihab is widely recognised for his role in launching flagship hospitality properties, most notably his instrumental contribution to the opening of one of the Maldives’ largest resorts, featuring 470 keys. With a consistent history of delivering record-breaking revenues, developing high-performing sales teams, and executing effective commercial strategies, he blends innovative thinking with data-driven execution. His dynamic leadership style has earned him success across competitive markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Reflecting on the challenges ahead, Shihab noted, “In today’s complex landscape, the Maldives has never been more competitive. Shihab holds an MBA in Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Baldwin Methodist College.
