[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Maldives has been named second best-selling destination for the Indian Ocean and Arabian region by Carrier – a luxury tour operator based in the United Kingdom. Carrier reported January 2017 as one of its best ever booking months, with sales for 2017 having increased by 9%, following a particularly strong 2016.

Maldives was named as the second best-selling destination in the Indian Ocean and Arabia region after Barbados, with the luxury tailor-made tour operator reporting sales from the Maldives continuing to strengthen with a 26% increase year on year. Carrier reported the most notable growth with Six Senses Laamu and Constance Moofushi Maldives.

“In my opinion, there is no greater escape from the chaos of our everyday lives than the beautiful sanctuary of the Maldives,” Amelia Hoyes – Sales Consultant for Carrier said about the Maldives.

Six Senses Laamu – the only resort nestled in the beautiful Laamu Atoll – is a luxury island with a combination of on-land and over-water villas, constructed of sustainable materials and set around the palm-fringed paradise. It was ranked third in the 2017 Trip Advisors Travelers’ Choice Awards in the highly competitive Maldives, and listed in the No. 11 position in the Top 25 Hotels in Asia.

Carrier also saw an increased demand for all-inclusive options available in the Maldives, and reported business to Constance Moofushi Maldives tripling year on year. Set on its own secluded island in South Ari Atoll, “the Jewel Island” offers a perfect combination of luxury and simplicity; with its on-land and over-water villas sitting amidst some of the best dive sites in the world. The resorts’ All-Inclusive Cristal Package is where everything is taken care of, from premium drinks, exquisite cuisine to luxurious accommodation.

“I have spent many hours in a dream-like state on these atolls, the warm turquoise glow of the Indian Ocean providing the perfect backdrop for soaking up the rays or snorkeling through the corals exploring the exotic marine life,” Hoyes added.

About what is on offer for family holidays, Hoyes commented: “For family holidays to these islands, sit back and relax, whilst your children are entertained with a variety of fun and safe activities from surfing lessons with a resident instructor, learning about the fragile eco-systems with marine biologists and helping to nurture the surrounding coral reefs, to building sandcastles under the shade of palm trees.”

Steve Kimber – Managing Director of Carrier was delighted with the strong early season booking performance the company achieved: “Although it’s been a year of change and uncertainty with the likes of Brexit and the ‘Trump Effect’, travellers are able to seek the support, protection and convenience of packages with tour operators like Carrier and, with the volume of enquiries we can see coming in daily, we have every indication of further success ahead.”

Carrier has 30 years’ experience in luxury tailor-made holidays worldwide and has firmly established its reputation as one of the leaders in the luxury holiday market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
