Carsten Schieck appointed new General Manager of Hideaway Resort

Carsten Schieck, one of the most famous names in the tourism industry, with over 35 years of experience in the business, has been appointed as the new General Manager of Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, Dhonakulhi Maldives. This news comes following the latest renovation of the entire island, which is estimated to be worth about $50 million.
Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa opened in 2005 and is one of the most luxurious resorts in the Maldives today. The resort is a scenic 45-minute flight from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to Hanimadhoo International Airport, followed by a short 20 minute speedboat ride to the resort.
Sales & Marketing Manager, Ms. Zaruhi Burnazyan, commented, “As a hotelier renowned for implementing pioneering concepts, particularly in the Maldives, Mr Schieck is a firm believer in getting things done efficiently. There are very exciting times ahead and over the next couple of years, developments will be made to introduce new villa categories, create innovative F&B concepts, and offer a refreshed activities program.”
Mr.Schieck has previously worked as general manager for Conrad Maldives Rangali Island for 11 years. As a ‘Pioneer in productive innovations’ Mr. Schieck is well credited for his role in the opening of the first ever underwater glass restaurant in the Maldives, Ithaa Restaurant at Conrad Maldives. Acting as a Regional General Manager for one of the world’s finest hotel and Resort Brands, the Hilton, Mr. Schieck oversaw the growth and success of the Hilton chain of hotels in Maldives and Sri Lanka.
