Centara Grand Island resort appoints new Executive Chef
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives resort has appointed Yvan Marclay as its new Executive Chef.
Marclay, who joins Centara with 34 years of experience operating at the highest level in his field, will be leading the 5- star resort’s culinary team.
A Swiss national, Marclay started his culinary career in 1982 as an apprentice. Since then, he has worked with well-known hotels such as Hotel Pollux in Zermatt, Hotel Metropole in Interlaken and Hotel Basel Hilton International.
During his 19-year career as Executive Chef, Marclay has worked at several Hilton properties across the world, including Hilton Kuching, Hilton Ramses, Hilton Nairobi, Hilton Al Ain and Hilton Abu Dhabi. His most recent posting was at the Waldorf Astoria and at the Jeddah Hilton.
The Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives, located in South Ari atoll, offers four dining options. Its signature restaurant ‘Suan-Bua’ serves authentic Thai cuisine. The Azzuri Mare offers tantalizing Italian cuisine while the resort’s main restaurant The Reef focuses on themed international buffets with ‘live’ cooking stations.
