Constance Moofushi; A tropical getaway with wonder and whimsy

At the reception, the gaze is drawn up at a display of hanging messages in notably oversized bottles. Upon entering the Manta Bar, the eyes are drawn to the two towering displays of stacked boulders reaching the ceiling. All pillars are bound with oversized rope and the whole of the resort is illuminated with slightly oversized lanterns.

The attention to detail is what grabs you ultimately. From the rustic marine-themed furnishings, treasure chest wardrobes and minibars, to the vintage hook latches on the doors and vintage hinges, everything is so well integrated to the theme that the standard issue smoke detector stands out a bit. Guests can choose from one of the 24 beach villas, 56 water villas or 30 senior water villas available. The resort hosts a number of dining options.

The Totem bar is situated right on the beach behind the pool and under a heavy canopy of indigenous trees and features ethnic decoration carved out of driftwood. Whenever the heat of the sun gets overwhelming, the beach bar is the right place to enjoy a fresh fruit smoothie or choose from a menu of freshly brewed iced teas. At lunch, a selection of all-time favourites such as pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches and fries, as well as large salads are on offer, with delicious desserts and home-made ice creams. This bar is also one of the most romantic places to be for a sundowner on the beach.

The A la carte restaurant Alizée is located a few meters from the sea on the white sandy beach and has a fine dining menu to choose from, including many seafood dishes, prime cuts of amongst other specialities.

‘Travel around the world’ is the theme of the sand-floored Manta restaurant. It offers a live cuisine experience with simple yet tasty dishes with themes changing daily, from wood-fired crispy pizza to Maldivian specialities. A beautiful wine cellar boasts a wide selection of the sommelier’s suggestions. After dinner, the bar is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail while listening or dancing to the DJ’s selection of tunes.

The resort’s overwater spa features eight treatment rooms, all with an ocean view and even a small glass viewing floor directly beneath the massage tables, giving you a peek into the lagoon and all the sea life inhabiting it while you are getting pampered.

The resort is as exciting or relaxing as you choose. Guests can partake in a number of activities ranging from, diving, Dhoni excursions, and big game fishing to snorkelling and non-motorised water sports; all the while knowing you are one deep breath away from total relaxation.

The resort also notably gives tours of the staff area, giving guests a peek behind the curtains at what it takes to run a resort. The island’s staff are exceptionally friendly and eager to serve you no matter where you are on the island.
