CROSSROADS Maldives, ministry explore partnership to promote Maldivian culture
CROSSROADS Maldives welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage on 29 June 2026 for a visit focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen partnerships in promoting Maldivian culture, heritage, and creative experiences.
The delegation was led by Minister Heena Waleed and included State Minister Mohamed Munaz, State Minister Mohamed Ikram, Permanent Secretary Yaniu Hashim, Meesam Musthafa (PA, Bureau), and the Director of Museum Management at the National Centre for Cultural Heritage.

The visit commenced with a guided tour of the Maldives Discovery Center (MDC), where the delegation experienced the centre’s interactive exhibits highlighting the Maldives’ rich history, traditions, craftsmanship, and maritime heritage. Discussions followed on potential avenues for collaboration to further showcase the country’s unique cultural identity to both local and international audiences.

The programme also included a tour of The Marina at CROSSROADS Maldives, where the Retail team introduced the destination’s lifestyle offerings and discussed opportunities for future partnerships in organising cultural performances, music events, and other entertainment initiatives that celebrate Maldivian heritage. Speaking during the visit, representatives from CROSSROADS Maldives reaffirmed the destination’s commitment to supporting initiatives that preserve and promote Maldivian culture while creating meaningful experiences for visitors.

The visit marks another step towards fostering stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors in developing cultural tourism and enhancing the visibility of the Maldives’ rich heritage through innovative experiences and community engagement.
