Among them is a renowned Arabic chef from Egypt, exclusively joining for the season to elevate the authenticity and richness of the culinary offerings. Hulhule’ Island Hotel takes pride in showcasing the culinary expertise of Chef Waled Mohamed Salem Abd El Gawad, a highly skilled and passionate Arabic chef with over 23 years of experience in the industry. With exceptional leadership and communication skills, Chef Waled not only brings expertise to the kitchen but also fosters a culture of excellence, inspiring his team to deliver consistently outstanding dining experiences. His commitment to quality and innovation has been recognised through notable accolades.
Chef Waled has also played a pivotal role in promoting Arabic cuisine, particularly during Ramadan, where he demonstrated his culinary artistry at Hulhule Island Hotel, Maldives, for four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019. With his remarkable talent and dedication, he is set to offer an unforgettable culinary experience to guests at Hulhule’ Island Hotel, ensuring that every dish embodies both tradition and innovation.
In addition, HIH is delighted to welcome back two of its most prominent chefs from previous years, Ibrahim Naeem and Ismail Naseer, ensuring that guests enjoy the same exceptional Iftar experience that has been cherished in the past.
Hulhule Island Hotel appointed Ibrahim Naeem as its new Executive Chef in December 2024. Having previously served as Sous Chef and Kitchen Executive from 2016 to 2019, Ibrahim brings multiple accolades, strong leadership, and extensive experience in Hulhule Island Hotel’s beloved Iftar experience. His career highlights include serving as Director of Operations at KHG Hotels, Country President of the World Association of Master Chefs, and a certified judge with the World Chef Organisation.
The hotel also takes pride in presenting Executive Sous Chef Ismail Naseer, a seasoned culinary professional with over 15 years of experience. Having refined his skills at Hulhule Island Hotel, he brings innovation and expertise to the kitchen. Chef Ismail’s talent has earned him top honours, including first place in the Food & Hospitality Asia Maldives Festive Meal Category in 2016 and first place in the Hotel Asia Maldives Hot Appetiser Category in 2013. His leadership and dedication to quality ensure an exceptional dining experience, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to culinary excellence.
