India’s EaseMyTrip resumes Maldives bookings amid strengthened relations

EaseMyTrip, one of India’s leading online travel platforms, has resumed bookings to the Maldives following recent improvements in diplomatic relations between the two nations. The decision comes after a constructive discussion with the Maldives Ministry of Tourism and reflects the growing cooperation between India and the Maldives.

Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder and CEO of EaseMyTrip, commented on the move, saying, “In light of positive developments in India-Maldives bilateral ties, we are resuming bookings to the Maldives. This decision is based on careful evaluation and follows a dialogue with the Ministry of Tourism delegation during their recent visit to our office in India. As a nation-first company, we align ourselves with our government’s vision and see this as a progressive step toward strengthening friendship and enhancing tourism.”

The resumption of bookings highlights the importance of tourism in fostering stronger international partnerships. The Maldives, a key destination for Indian travellers, has long been a favourite for its luxury resorts and picturesque beaches, and this development is expected to further boost tourism flows between the two countries.

EaseMyTrip, a publicly listed company on NSE and BSE, is one of India’s largest online travel platforms. It offers a wide range of travel services, including air tickets, hotels, holiday packages, rail and bus tickets, and other travel-related services. The company has expanded globally, with offices in multiple countries, including the UAE, UK, USA, and Singapore.
