InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort promotes Shufana Adam to Assistant Director of HR
InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has promoted Shufana Adam to the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources, effective 11 May 2026.
Shufana joined the resort in January 2024 as Human Resources Manager and has since contributed to the development of employee engagement and human resources operations. The promotion reflects her role in supporting workplace initiatives and organisational performance within the resort.
She brings over six years of experience in hospitality human resources in the Maldives. Prior to joining InterContinental Maldives, she held several roles at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa under Accor, where she was involved in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement and talent development.
During her tenure at InterContinental Maldives, Shufana has been involved in initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement. Her responsibilities have included supporting human resources functions and contributing to internal development programmes.
Commenting on the appointment, Mohamed Hussain Shihab, Area Director of Human Resources for the Maldives, said Shufana had demonstrated strong leadership since joining the resort. He noted her focus on employee wellbeing and operational standards, and expressed confidence in her ability to contribute in her new role.
In her new position, Shufana will continue to support human resources strategy and employee development initiatives at the resort.
InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort stated that the promotion aligns with its ongoing focus on workplace development and organisational growth within the IHG Hotels & Resorts network.
