MACL Introduces Pandemic Related Disinfection and Decontamination Charges
Maldives Airports Company Limited, operators of Velana International Airport (VIA) has introduced new pandemic related disinfection and decontamination charges, effective from 15 July 2020.
The announced charges include an Aircraft Disinfection Service (by aircraft type), Crew Disinfection Service and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) disinfection charge.
According to a circular published by MACL on 15th July 2020, the following rates will apply for the newly introduced services;
1. Aircraft Disinfection Service | |
1.1 Seaplane (and / or aircraft up to 20 seats) | USD 100 |
1.2 Small Aircraft (MTOW 50 tons and below) | USD 200 |
1.3 Narrow Body Aircraft (MTOW above 50 tons with single aisle) | USD 300 |
1.4 Wide Body Aircraft (MTOW above 100 tons with dual aisle) | USD 400 |
2. Crew and Ground Staff Disinfection Service | |
2.1 Charge per head | USD 5.00 |
3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Decontamination Charge | |
3.1 Charge per head (applicable to rubber gloves, gumboots and goggles) | USD 2.00 |
The rates are exclusive of taxes and limited PPE items are also for sale at the airport.
