Maldives promoted at WTM Latin America 2024
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) along with 9 industry partners promoted the Sunny Side of Life at one of the leading travel and tourism exhibitions, WTM Latin America (WTM LATAM) 2024. The event was held from 15-17th of April at José Bernardo Pinto, 333, Vila Guilherme São Paulo, Brazil.
WTM LATAM is one of the major B2B travel and tourism events for Latin America, connecting top experts and professionals from the tourism industry. It facilitates a significant platform for qualified and relevant buyers, influencers and market professionals from the region to network and engage in excellent business opportunities.
MMPRC’s participation in the event aligned with its strategies to promote the Maldives as the most ideal holiday destination and maintain brand visibility in the Latin American region. It also provided myriad opportunities to strengthen relationships with top tour operators in the market. Throughout the fair, MMPRC aimed to disseminate the latest information about the destination and our tourism products with the visitors. Additionally, the fair further served as a valuable venue for industry partners to connect with the top travel trade and influencers from the region and showcase their individual products, services, and experiences.
Throughout the stand, Maldives showcased destination videos, allowing visitors to experience the Maldives firsthand. There was also a photo backdrop at the back of the stand for capturing those picture-perfect moments. The visitors to the Maldives stand connected with travel professionals from the Maldives tourism industry, learning more about the destination to plan their dream trip to the Maldives. Moreover, a speed networking session was hosted for the exhibitors, providing an ample opportunity to connect with media representatives.
The Maldives has seen a surge in popularity among Latin American travellers. Over 2,762 tourists from the region visited the country as of February 2024. MMPRC is committed to maintaining this momentum and has exciting marketing activities planned including media and influencer familiarisation trips, as well as targeted digital and social media campaigns. These efforts aim to solidify the Maldives’ position as a dream vacation destination for Latin American travellers.
