Maldives promotes destination appeal at Italy’s leading Travel Trade event
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing Destination Maldives at the TTG Travel Experience 2024, held from October 9th to 11th in Rimini, Italy. In collaboration with 64 representatives from 25 companies, MMPRC is actively promoting the Maldives as a premier travel destination to the Italian market during this event.
As Italy’s leading travel trade event, the TTG Travel Experience brings together global operators and key industry players, including tourism boards, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, and accommodation providers. Given Italy’s longstanding role as one of the Maldives’ most important and traditional source markets, MMPRC’s participation is essential to ensuring the Maldives remains a top choice for Italian travellers.
At the Maldives stand, MMPRC is engaging in a series of activities to raise destination awareness through direct interactions with key stakeholders such as travel agents, tour operators, and media representatives. The event also offers a platform for industry partners to share the latest updates about their properties and services.
Italy has consistently ranked as one of the largest source markets for the Maldives, contributing 106,946 arrivals as of October 1st, 2024. MMPRC’s promotional efforts in this market include media and influencer familiarisation trips and digital media campaigns, all aimed at increasing destination visibility and maintaining the Maldives as a preferred destination for Italian travellers. Looking ahead, MMPRC has several exciting initiatives planned, including the “Discover Maldives Webinar Series: Italy Edition,” along with many more upcoming activities.
