Maldives roadshow series in India’s Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) has hosted a successful roadshow series in Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh, India.
This event focused predominantly on connecting with tour operators and travel agents from the Indian market; strengthening trade relationships; and maintaining India as one of the top source markets for the Maldives. It also aimed to elevate individual products and experiences, aligned with the strategies for the Indian market.
The first roadshow was held in Lucknow on 17th July, the second roadshow at Jaipur on the 19th of July, followed by a consecutive third roadshow on 20th July at Chandigarh.
A total of 22 renowned companies from the Maldivian tourism industry took part in the roadshow, presenting their unique products and services to the Indian market. These companies included Island Life Travel Pvt Ltd, Medhufushi Island Resort, Tatabye Maldives Pvt Ltd, Adaaran Resorts and Heritance Aarah, Furaveri Maldives, Emerald Collection, Angsana Resort and Spa Maldives – Velavaru, Yorker DMC Pvt Ltd, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, Centara Grand Resort & Spa, Lux South Ari Atoll; Robinson Club Maldives Pvt Ltd, Island Aviation Services Ltd, UI Maldives, Ayada Maldives, Villa Resorts, Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru, Crown and Champa Resorts Pvt Ltd, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, Kuda Villingilli Resort Maldives, Westin Maldives, and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.
MMPRC conducted raffles during the roadshow series and the lucky winner at Lucknow was gifted a free 02-day stay at Cinnamon Hotel and Resort. For the raffle held during the roadshows in Jaipur and Chandigarh, the lucky winner from each roadshow was gifted a stay at the JW Marriott and Robinson Maldives respectively.
India has been the top source market for the Maldives post Covid-19. It is currently the #2 source market to the Maldives with a total of 171,131 arrivals as of 16th July. This date was also the day that the Maldives celebrated achieving the momentous milestone of 1 million tourist arrivals for this year.
MMPRC continues to reinforce Maldivian presence in this market through a 360-degree marketing approach. The ongoing marketing activities in 2023 include the joint digital campaigns with prominent publications and influencer familiarisation trips.
