Maldivian perfume launched at airport duty-free grand sale
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has launched a new Maldivian perfume following the inauguration of a ‘Grand Sale’ at the airport’s duty-free to mark its 50th anniversary.
The Kokeshi perfume and grand sale were launched by MACL’s managing director, Adil Moosa, at a ceremony held Sunday afternoon at the departure area of the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).
The Grand Sale offers up to 40 per cent discount on selected products and a flat 10 per cent discount on all products purchased at MACL outlets, including duty free shops, arrival shops and the CIP Lounge shop.
Speaking at the ceremony, Adil Moosa announced plans by the state-owned company to develop last-minute shopping outlets at departure gates 1, 2 and 3.
After the inauguration of the Grand Sale, popular Maldivian singer Unoosha performed at the launching of the Kokeshi perfume.
According to MACL, Kokeshi is a limited edition custom-made perfume made in France. The perfume has three floral scents; amber, rose and Jasmine. The perfume bottle was designed in the shape of a doll wearing traditional Maldivian dress, to be kept as a souvenir.
Speaking to the press at the launching ceremony, Shakeel Ahmed, an MACL official, said: “Tourists really like traditional Maldivian souvenirs, so we came up with the idea to create a perfume that can also be used as a souvenir.”
The new product will be available at all duty free shops and arrival shops. The Grand Sale will run until 31 July.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
